WRITING WITH PICTURES & TIDY FESTIVAL ONLINE

Writing with Pictures

HALF-DAY JOURNALING WORKSHOP

A contemplative mini‑retreat with images, words, and a small circle of people.

Writing with Pictures is a journaling practice that begins with your camera and an image, and becomes a way of making space for yourself and what you may find there.

In a single half‑day, participants learn a clear, repeatable sequence—noticing, photographing, and writing—that can be folded into a daily or weekly routine. It’s structured and accessible for people who are drawn to images and words, but don’t quite know how to begin.

This workshop works well as:

  • A stand‑alone offering for individuals

  • A guest workshop for photography centers, writing centers, Jungian and contemplative communities

  • A special session for therapists, coaches, and their clients or groups

  • A mini‑retreat for people who work with images, story, and inner life

This is for you or your community if:

You (or your group) want a journaling practice that isn’t just “stare at the blank page”

You value contemplative time, but find it hard to protect or structure on your own

You run a photography, writing, Jungian, KonMari, or therapy community and want a meaningful, experiential class to offer

You’re interested in a way of working with images and words that supports inner work without becoming performative or public

This workshop helps by:

Giving people a clear, repeatable Writing with Pictures sequence they can use on their own or in future groups

Combining images and words in a way that gives pages a beginning and an ending—so sessions feel contained, not endless

Creating a small, guided mini‑retreat where participants can try the sequence once and take it home

You’ll leave with:

One lived experience of the full Writing with Pictures sequence

A journaling pattern you can fold into an existing practice or use to begin one

A journal with the sequence laid out inside it, ready to keep going

A practice that can support therapy, supervision, creative work, or personal reflection

A different way of seeing ordinary moments, with more space around your inner life
